What Now?

A Blueprint for Responding to the Marriage Crisis

The rebel tyrants have spoken. How will we respond?

On June 26, 2015, five black-robed judges of the United State Supreme Court defied God’s Word and mocked our nation’s constitutional system when they declared by fiat that homosexuals have the right to marry. Their ruling is a legal fiction, as Chief Justice Roberts acknowledged in his dissent: “the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it.”

Yet if left unchecked, this treasonous opinion propounded in Obergefell v. Hodges will unleash a tidal wave of evil never before seen in our land. Perversity is set to run amok, with God’s created order for male and female shamelessly subverted. And, as the wicked are praised, Christians will face increasing persecution and be pressured to relent.

Marriage—the first human institution established by God in Eden—has been targeted for destruction. With so much at stake, what are we to do?

In What Now? A Blueprint for Responding to the Marriage Crisis, Unbroken Faith Ministries will carefully examine marriage biblically and historically and will offer a practical blueprint for cultural engagement in all three spheres: family, church, and state.

The book will explain that marriage, which is ordained by God between a man and a woman alone, is a family institution—not a church sacrament or a creature of the state—and that it must be upheld as such if we’re to win this war that threatens our civilization. The book will also explore the doctrine of the lesser magistrate—the biblical teaching that lower officials have a duty to interpose against rebel tyrants in higher office who spurn the rule of law—for, indeed, the time has come for despots’ overreach to be quelled.

Finally, this work will look beyond symptoms to the root, and call the Church to recognize how God’s people have callously compromised the sanctity of marriage on so many fronts and helped pave the way for this solemn judgment. The bottom line is this: For us to have any real hope in this raging battle, we must repent of our sins and walk humbly before Almighty God.
